About Us

Texas CEO Magazine was established in 2010 to inform and educate business leaders across Texas. In 2020, the magazine was acquired by American CEO, LLC and relaunched with a renewed focus on being the trusted business resource to which Texas CEOs and other leaders turn for information and education when it comes to improving their business strategy and acumen.

In the pages of the print publication and here on TexasCEOMagazine.com, you’ll find articles on leadership, business insights and trends, entrepreneurship and startups, Texas business news, and more. We want to become a part of our readers’ personal CEO or leadership journey.

Texas CEO Magazine strives to be your most trusted media resource for Texas business leadership insight. Whether you are the CEO, president, founder, executive—any leader in the Lone Star State—we can help you grow your business and master your role.

Join the Texas CEO Magazine community by subscribing to our print edition, visiting our website and social media pages, or attending one of our events.

Our Team

Joel Trammell

Joel Trammell is a successful founder of four companies and has led seven companies as CEO ranging from start-ups to a billion-dollar public company. As an author and educator, he has taught CEO master classes and Managerial Excellence courses for many years. He is the founder of the Texas CEO Magazine and the owner of the Texas CEO Ranch in Texas. He has developed software to help CEOs align goals across their organization and measure performance. Joel is on a mission to teach new and current CEOs what almost no one else is teaching: how to successfully perform the CEO job.

Donna Bragg

Donna Bragg joined the magazine from Arkansas, but her Texas relocation was really a return home. She attended Humble High School outside Houston and then went on to Southern Methodist University in Dallas. From there, she built a successful broadcasting career as a senior news anchor and producer in northwest Arkansas, most recently, serving as advertising and marketing director at the Arkansas Lottery. Donna has more than “she cares to admit” decades of experience in media, marketing, branding, public relations and communications in fields from television news to healthcare to government administration. She is passionate about finding bold, winning solutions to tough, Texas-sized challenges. If you have a better way of doing something in the Lone Star State, she wants to give you a megaphone. If you are looking for passionate solutions to Texas leadership challenges, she wants you to subscribe.

Rebecca French Smith

Rebecca French Smith may be a Texas transplant, but she’s always wanted to be somewhere that oozed attitude and warm weather. She hit the jackpot when she came to Texas, and we did too! She’s a University of Missouri J-School Tiger and brings with her more than two decades of publishing, editorial, and marketing experience in the business, travel, lifestyle, and agriculture industries, most recently as the editor-in-chief at Missouri Life magazine. She loves a good story, and if Steinbeck was right when he wrote “Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession,” then she feels right at home bringing the best business stories in Texas to the pages of Texas CEO Magazine.

Tamara Trammell

Marketing Operations

Tamara Trammell was born and raised in Texas. She attended the University of Houston and worked in retail management for several years before she made the move to small business sales, marketing, and accounts receivable. Process and flows, maximizing productivity, and not least, making sure the team is on point are where she thrives. She also loves gardening, great food, interesting books, and being a mom, not necessarily in that order.
